Cycle counts overview

A cycle count checks physical stock against the system and posts the differences, keeping on-hand figures honest without a full stocktake.

A cycle count is a controlled stock check. You count what's physically on the shelf, compare it to what the system expects, and post the differences so your inventory stays accurate. It's steadier than shutting the warehouse for a full annual stocktake, and it lives under Inventory → Cycle Counts.

How does a count flow?

  • Create a count for a warehouse and choose which locations to include.
  • The system snapshots the current on-hand for every SKU in those bins.
  • Counters record the real quantity for each line.
  • A reviewer checks the variances, approves, then posts the adjustments.

What count types are there?

Full Count, ABC Analysis, Location-Based and Random Sample are the ways to scope the work.

Tip. Nothing changes your stock until a count is Posted. Up to that point you can recount, reject or cancel freely.
