Find categories that still need mapping
Open Marketplaces under Sales Channels. The Uncategorized internal categories list shows every category still missing a marketplace mapping.
To see which categories still need mapping, open Marketplaces under Sales Channels. The Uncategorized internal categories list shows every internal category that's missing a mapping for at least one connected marketplace and region, so nothing fails to publish without you noticing.
How do I read the list?
- Open Marketplaces from the sidebar. The landing screen is the uncategorized list, headed Marketplace mappings.
- Each row is one internal category still missing a mapping. Rows are indented to mirror your category tree, with the full path shown under the name.
- The grey Missing tags spell out which marketplaces and regions still need a mapping, such as eBay United States or Amazon US.
- Click Map → on any row to open that category's mapping page and fill in the gaps.
What if every category is already mapped?
You'll see Every category is mapped — nothing to do here. If instead it says no marketplaces are connected, connect eBay or Amazon under Integrations first. The list only shows the marketplaces you actually sell on.
Tip. Work top to bottom. Parent categories sit above their children, so mapping from the top keeps related products moving together.
Common questions
Why does a category show up as uncategorized?
It has no marketplace mapping for at least one connected region. The grey Missing tags on the row tell you exactly which marketplace and region still need one.
The list is empty and says no marketplaces are connected. What now?
Connect eBay or Amazon under Integrations. The uncategorized list only shows the marketplaces and regions you actually sell on, so it stays empty until a channel is connected.
Does an uncategorized category block products from publishing?
Yes. A product can't publish to a marketplace until the category it sits in has a mapping for that marketplace and region. Map the category, or set a per-listing override on the individual listing.
