Buy a shipping label

Pick a service, check the Cost Review, then click Create + Print Label to buy the label and get a tracking number.

Once you've shopped rates and chosen a service, buying the label commits that rate with the carrier and returns a tracking number. This is the one step that spends money, except with the Test carrier.

The floating Create + Print Label button

How do I buy the label?

  1. Confirm the package and pick a Service from the shopped rates.
  2. Check the floating Cost Review box at the bottom-right of the modal.
  3. Click Create + Print Label. It shows Purchasing… while it works.
  4. The tracking number is attached and the printable label opens.

Why is Create + Print Label disabled?

No service is selected. Shop rates and choose one to activate the button. A Hold Until date also blocks the purchase until that date passes.

Tip. If the carrier rejects the request, you get an error and no charge is made, so it's safe to retry once you've fixed what it flagged.

Common questions

Am I charged if the label fails?

No. A rejected purchase returns an error and nothing is billed. Fix what the carrier flagged, such as the address or package, and try again.

Why won't a paid order let me buy a label?

A Hold Until date is set, which blocks the purchase until that date passes. Clear or wait out the hold, then buy the label.

Can I test labels without paying?

Yes. Use the built-in Test carrier. It needs no credentials and returns a mock tracking number, so you can run the full buy-and-print flow at no cost.
