Selling on eBay: common questions

Quick answers to the questions sellers ask most about eBay: connection drops, rejected listings, missing scopes and sync issues.

Event History, the first place to look when something fails

Tip. Event History is your best diagnostic tool. Almost every failure leaves an entry there explaining exactly what eBay sent back.

Common questions

An eBay page keeps redirecting me to Integrations with "connect your eBay account first."

Your connection has expired. Open eBay → Settings and click Connect eBay or Refresh Token. eBay can revoke access after a password or sign-in change, and reconnecting is the fix.

My listing was rejected. How do I fix it?

Open the listing. The red error panel lists each problem with a hint and a Fix this field → link, usually a missing item specific or detail. Correct it, then click Retry publish.

I get "Marketing scope is not granted" when promoting.

Your connection predates Promoted Listings permission. Reconnect your eBay account from Settings to grant the Marketing scope, then try again.

Bulk revise or promote skipped some of my items. Why?

By design. Auctions, multi-variant listings and non-live items are skipped, and a new price of $0 is skipped too. The result summary says how many were skipped and why.

New messages or orders aren't showing up.

Run a manual sync (Sync Messages on the inbox), then check Event History filtered to Error for any failures. Also confirm the matching toggle is on under eBay → Settings.

Can I undo ending a listing?

You can't reopen the same eBay item, but ended items stay in your records. Use Relist to put one back on eBay as a fresh listing, optionally editing it first.
